In Light of the Hour – Ministering Strategically in the Days in which We Live
We are in a war. Each day that goes by seems to reveal an ever-increasing spirit of lawlessness and anger that seems to be running rampant and unchecked.
Instead of working out differences in an amicable way, people point and shoot – unloading their magazine, reloading, and firing again. Generally speaking, people seem to have lost all sense of common decency and respect when it comes to communicating with someone who may hold different beliefs or opinions. Hate, prejudice, violence, and fear are slithering through our streets, taking prisoners by the thousands. And as Chaplains, we often end up right in the middle of it all on the worst possible day of someone’s life.
How do we as First Response Chaplains minister strategically in these days?
Our morning session will be focused on how we as First Response Chaplains lead in these critical times. In order to lead well, we must ensure that as Chaplains, we’re emotionally and spiritually healthy. We will spend time competing a “heart check”, a “personal inventory” of how our hearts are doing.
Our afternoon session will feature guest speaker Chaplain Tracey Bickle, who will help us gain an understanding on how to monitor your heart status and how to receive healing and freedom from the trauma we face encounter and endure as Chaplains. Tracey has 31 yrs of pastoring, 22 yrs of leading a Living Waters Program, and 12 yrs of offering life coaching.
